I first started writing this story back in 2005, and let me tell you, I had no idea what I was doing! I’m so glad I didn't touch it again until 2023, because the fresh eyes and life experience brought this story to life in a way my younger self never could have.
As a woman who has always had an older man skinning and grinning in my face (and at 41, y'all's uncles and granddaddies are still trying it, LMAO!), I knew I had to be real about the pitfalls of these relationships. But I also wanted to show those rare times when a younger woman gets her genuine, abuse-free HEA with an older man.
(The theme is personal. From a young age (long before the age of adulthood), I've navigated the attention of older men. I felt a duty to explore this dynamic in its full complexity; to expose the potential for manipulation and harm, but also to honor the possibility of a true, healthy connection.)
In these pages, you will not find a sugarcoated fantasy. You will find Isis M. Jones, a twenty-three-year-old psychology student whose questionable choices lead her straight into the path of her professor, Dr. West. Their story is raw, real, and handled with grace.
